A Lifetime on the Water • 20+ Years Professional Guiding • FFI Certified
My story with the saltwater lagoons of East Central Florida began more than 30 years ago, well before I ever thought of becoming a guide. It started with a personal passion for understanding the unique ecosystem of Mosquito Lagoon and the thrill of sight fishing its shallow flats. That passion evolved into a full-time profession, and for over two decades, I've had the privilege of sharing my deep, first-hand experience with fellow anglers.
This page is about my journey, my qualifications, and my unwavering commitment to providing an exceptional and educational day on the water. My goal isn't just to help you catch fish, but to share the knowledge I've gained over a lifetime and create a memorable experience, whether you're a seasoned fly angler or a family looking to make new memories.
If you'd like to see the specific trips born from this experience, you can explore my sight fishing charters or learn more about my specialized fly fishing trips.
My commitment to professionalism, safety, and the sport of fishing is reflected in my qualifications and affiliations with the industry's most respected organizations.
My expertise has been recognized by leading fishing publications and television shows, a testament to my authority and standing within the fishing community.
I am one of the few Fly Fishers International Certified Casting Instructors in the area. Becoming an instructor made me a much better fly caster. In turn, I am able to offer advice to my fly fishing clients in a way that non-fly fishing guides cannot. I also give private and on-line casting analysis and instruction through Orlando Fly Casting. While I enjoy fly fishing as much as anyone, I will not hesitate to pick up a spinning rod with an artificial lure if conditions dictate. For me, getting the bite, especially one I can see, is the best part. Nothing beats casting to a tailing redfish or rolling tarpon.
I was fortunate enough to be invited to film an episode of the tv show Addictive Fishing. It was made in the Mosquito Lagoon with Capt. Blair Wiggins. You can see some excerpts from the show below.

Read on TripAdvisorThis episode of Addictive Fishing TV was filmed in Florida’s Mosquito Lagoon, where I guided Capt. Blair Wiggins in search of redfish and seatrout. The show highlights my approach to light tackle fishing on the flats, sharing techniques for spotting fish in shallow water and presenting lures to trophy redfish. Being featured on this nationally broadcast fishing show is a testament to my experience and knowledge of these waters.
I fish out of a well maintained 16ft Hewes flats skiff. This boat is extremely stable and rides through rough water easily while still able to get onto the shallow flats to stalk redfish. The boat is equipped with a push pole, Minn Kota Terrova trolling motor, a new Humminbird gps/side imaging, and power pole. It is powered by a 90hp Yamaha motor. I have been the sole owner of this vessel. It is able to quietly fish the flats but can also comfortably cross rough water bays on windy days and get to areas many lightweight skiffs cannot go.
